Kazakhstan Exemption Letter CIS National Certification
Products sold in Kazakhstan must complete local certification procedures. The two mainstream mandatory certifications are EAEU Customs Union Certification and Kazakhstan GOST-K Certification. For products outside the scope of both schemes, a Kazakhstan Exemption Letter is required for import clearance.
Both Customs Union Certification and GOST-K Certification are mandatory. The exemption letter is an official legally valid document issued by Kazakh authorities, confirming that the product does not fall into the mandatory certification catalogue. It is not a product quality certificate. Exporters may still be required to provide quality proof documents. For such cases, voluntary GOST-K certification is recommended as supplementary qualification.
Two Types of Kazakhstan Exemption Letter
1. Exemption Letter issued by customs authorities;
2. Exemption Letter issued by business partners.
The two types are issued by different institutions. The partner-based exemption requires qualified local enterprises or individual business operators; the customs version must include detailed import contract information. With the improvement of EAEU regulations, local certification rules have become more standardized. For further inquiries about Kazakhstan exemption letters, please contact our team.
